This is why we will offer founders and builders at the conference a unique opportunity to present 5 minutes in front of a VC audience during our Pitch Day on the 20th of April. On the 21st, you will talk face to face with VCs that selected you using our custom booking app.

- Founders:
- You get 5 minutes to pitch and
- demo your project in front of a VC audience
- VCs:
- Sit down and relax while listening to founders pitching.
- Book your favorite founders for a meeting using our app.
- Schedule: April 20th, 10:00am-4:30pm
- Includes breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks
VC Speed Dating
- Founders and VCs:
- - you get 5-10 minutes to talk face to face
- - VCs only meet with pre-booked founders of interest
- - zero commission: any deal that happens at ETHDubai is yours and goes 100% to founders, no middle man.
- Schedule: April 21st, 10:00am-6:30pm
- Includes breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks
We will send you a link to register your startup as a founder once you get a ticket.

This presentation offers a technical examination of Carbon DeFi's implementation of fixed-point arithmetic within its smart contracts, crucial for achieving precision in decentralized finance transactions. Detailing the challenges of representing real-numbered financial data with fixed-point numbers on the Ethereum blockchain, it delves into the system design, data compression, and precision management techniques employed by Carbon DeFi. The talk emphasizes the protocol's strategies for minimizing precision loss in token exchange processes, ensuring accurate and fair trade executions under the constraints of blockchain technology. Attendees will gain insight into the sophisticated mathematical and computational approaches that underpin Carbon DeFi's protocol efficiency and accuracy.
Mark B. Richardson: Bancor Project Lead & Protocol Designer
Sarang is a SushiSwap adviser who worked on Trident, cross-chain swaps, streaming and their new yield strategies. In this workshop, he will teach you some of the magic he uses to manage your DeFi yield strategies like they do it at Sushi.

As Al becomes more intertwined with our daily lives, establishing trust in these technologies is paramount. Transparency, privacy, and security are essential for developing Al systems that we can trust. In this talk, we present the fundamental architecture and technologies for developing a decentralized Al that is open and transparent. This involves key stages such as data collection, preprocessing, model design, training, fine-tuning, and deployment. By inviting everyone to participate in these stages and by utilizing global resources, from data centers to smartphones, decentralized Al removes the opaque "black box" view of Al.
Dr. Max Li: OORT Founder & CEO, faculty member at Columbia University
Most of the work on transaction fee mechanism design considers a static model where users only care about inclusion in the next block, but in the real world, users are willing to trade off timely inclusion for lower fees. In this talk we discuss what this more realistic model means for transaction fee mechanism design. First we discuss the transition from proof of stake to proof of work and show that proof of stake chains have lower congestion and fees than proof of work chains with the same demand and throughput. Second, we discuss the performance of EIP 1559 under the dynamic model. We show that if the update parameter is too fast (as we argue is the case on chain today) 1559 causes longer wait times for patient transactions and higher fees for impatient transactions due to spikes in transaction fees.
Max Resnick: Head of Research at Special Mechanisms Group
There has been some controversy recently about proposals for a change to the staking rewards of Ethereum L1. This talk will ask the questions: Does Ethereum need to change its staking rewards at all? And if so, what could an "endgame" for staking economics look like?
Ansgar Dietrichs: Researcher @ Ethereum Foundation
Hybrid L2s are a new class of L2s that inherit security from and maintain native bridges to multiple L1s. On the example of Bitcoin and Ethereum, we outline the path to achieving this new design model by leveraging new Bitcoin primitives incl. merged mining and BitVM.

Many of the Defi protocols rely on accurate pricing of user collateral. The most common approach is to use spot prices for all assets included in the collateral to estimate their market value. However, the spot price is only an approximation of the actual market price of all assets, as the liquidation process often involves additional slippage and fees. Redstone proposes a novel approach with multi-dimensional pricing that provides a two-dimensional curve indicating a price depending on the quantity of assets to be liquidated. The curve is generated in real time based on the liquidity available in the current market and any additional costs due to swap fees. This allows protocols to better price collateral, reduce risk margin and improve capital utilisation. During the presentation, I will describe the methodology used to create the multidimensional price. I will also use code examples to show how the data is formatted and how it can be used efficiently in smart contracts.

Gyroscope's new Elliptic Concentrated Liquidity Pool (E-CLP) design combines the benefits of Uniswap-V3-style concentrated liquidity with the ability to customise the liquidity profile between the price bounds, using an ellipse! The E-CLP can be calibrated to focus liquidity within the normal trading range and maintain some liquidity for price ranges that may occur but are less common, resulting in major capital efficiency gains. This can be useful in multiple scenarios, for example with Liquity’s LUSD or Lido’s stETH, the minting price can be set to the upper price bound and the redemption price to the lower price bound with added asymmetric flexibility if necessary. Similarly, the Gyroscope stablecoin is always bound by the mint price of $1 and the redemption price near $1 (under niche situations, the redemption price may be at a discount). Utilising the E-CLP design in these scenarios can result in capital efficiency gains over alternative pool designs such as StableSwap.

In this talk Alex will lay out why ZK tech is the most powerful and only way to infinitely scale the internet of value. ZK is the endgame, because it scales varifiability. Verifiability guarantees security and resilience. People, institutions, and even nation states are willing to pay a massive premium for it. Verifiability is what turns a database into a blockchain. With ZK, you can prove any number of transactions in parallel – millions of TPS on thousands of rollups – then compress them into a single proof, put on Ethereum, prove the ETH block itself, and verify all of it in under 1 second on your mobile wallet.

Solidity development and security tooling are still evolving, the first ecosystem has grown around tools such as Brownie, Slither, Echidna, or VS Studio Code extension Solidity Juan Blanco wrote in 2015 and has over 1,2 million installations. Thanks to those early adopters, the next waves of tooling could arrive, improving comfort, effectiveness, and security. Thanks to the openness and invocation drive of the Ethereum ecosystem, every major player is trying to contribute and push boundaries. But the take of Ackee Security wasn't to replace any of those tools - but to replace them all. What was the motivation to combine the functionality into one tool? And how did it end? This talk reveals the insides.
Josef Gattermayer: Co-founder and CEO at Ackee Blockchain Security
Choosing an audit company for your project may be a challenge. New teams come and go, the price range for the typical audit from different companies may differ by orders of magnitude, and the audit quality is sometimes hard to estimate beforehand. Pessimistic came up with the idea of designing an auditor scoring framework to help one of the Ethereum protocols overcome this struggle. The framework can help to identify whether the team you are scoring is a good fit for your project at your stage.
Alexander Seleznev: CEO of Pessimistic Security

Secure, user-friendly cross-chain interoperability is an ongoing challenge in DeFi; cross-chain operations to and from Ethereum and other chains is still often convoluted. The Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) Protocol offers a solution. Initially developed for the Cosmos ecosystem, IBC is a cross-chain messaging framework that enables communication between chains that is direct, trust-minimized, secure, efficient, and decentralized. Since launch, IBC has secured tens of billions in annual value transfers, with no exploits. In this talk, Omar Zaki of Composable will discuss benefits of connecting Ethereum to IBC for cross-chain bridging. Further, he will describe Composable’s work on Ethereum IBC connectivity, which is in testnet and rapidly approaching mainnet deployment. As a result, Ethereum will interoperate in a trust-minimized manner with 45+ IBC-enabled Cosmos appchains, ~80 Polkadot and Kusama parachains, and Solana (soon), with more connections planned for the future.

Smart contract security has been the talk of the town for years. But a lending protocol, a play-2-earn platform, or a DEX may have a very different view on what constitutes (un-)intended behaviors in their system. Clearly defining those, we effectively create a comprehensive set of properties that the system has to adhere to. Defining security properties is the fundamental step in achieving protocol security, and it opens a clear path to a multitude of options, from simple unit testing to full fledged formal verification, which is much more accessible than commonly believed. In this talk, we will discuss how to ensure that these properties hold by integrating security tools, including Foundry and Kontrol, into your development pipeline, and security mindset — into your development lifecycle.

People want the ability to access as many DeFi protocols as possible. They do not want to use as many dapps as possible. Instead, they want one dapp that lets them do everything. They want a DeFi super dapp. Currently, DeFi is dominated by mono dapps. One dapp per protocol, one protocol per dapp. For example, there's the Uniswap protocol and the Uniswap app. But DeFi is about to go through a transition away from mono dapps toward super dapps, which will unlock new potential in the DeFi space.

In "Bolstering Web3 Security Across the Smart Contract Lifecycle," Jose Paul, presents a robust DevSecOps model for web3 applications. Integrating AI-driven static and dynamic code analysis in early development phases, the strategy anticipates vulnerabilities early on. It then progresses to detailed manual audits leveraging formal verification to test smart contract resilience pre-deployment. The model capitalizes on the web3 community's expertise through testnet-phase red teaming and bug bounties, enhancing security before mainnet launch. The lifecycle culminates with real-time monitoring systems that employ machine learning for anomaly detection, offering proactive threat intelligence and incident response. This approach redefines smart contract security, ensuring it evolves with web3 developments.
